Quotes of Popes Declaring Mary Worthy of Worship

Quotes of Popes declaring Mary worthy of worship: "Do you ask me, is Mary willing to assist you? Does she really take an interest in your welfare? Or is she so much absorbed by the fruitation of God as to be indifferent to our miseries? "Can a woman forget her infant so as not to have pity on the fruit of her womb"? (Isaiah 49:15), Even so Mary will not forget us" "Faith of our Fathers, By Cardinal James Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore, page 225, 1893 edition.

Let's see what Isaiah really says:

"Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? YEA, they may forget, Yet I will not forget thee" Isaiah 49:15

"God has entrusted the keys and treasures of heaven to Mary." Thomas Aquinas

"Holy Scripture was written to Mary, about Mary, and on account of Mary." St. Bernard

"No one ever finds Christ but with and through Mary. Whoever seeks Christ apart from Mary seeks Him in vain." St. Bonaventure

"What will it cost you, oh Mary, to hear our prayer? What will it cost you to save us? Has not Jesus placed in your hands all the treasures of His grace and mercy? You sit crowned Queen at the right hand of your son: your dominion reaches as far as the heavens and to you are subject the earth and all creatures dwelling thereon. Your dominion reaches even down into the abyss of hell, and you alone, oh Mary, save us from the hands of Satan." Pope Pius Xl

"Mary, not one of thy devout servants has ever perished: may I, too, Be saved!" Pope Benedict XV

"O Mary Mother of Mercy and Refuge of Sinners! We beseech thee to look with pitying eyes on poor heretics and schismatics. Do thou, who art the Seat of Wisdom, enlighten the minds wretchedly enfolded in the darkness of ignorance and sin, that they may clearly recognize the Holy, Catholic, Roman Church to be the only true Church of Jesus Christ, outside of which neither sanctity nor salvation can be found. Call them to the unity of the one fold, granting them the grace to believe every truth of our holy faith and to submit themselves to the Supreme Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Jesus Christ on earth, that, thus being united with us by the sweet chains of charity, there may soon be but one fold under one and the same Shepherd; and may we all thus, O Glorious Virgin, exultantly sing forever: ‘Rejoice, O Virgin Mary! Thou alone hast destroyed all heresies in the whole world!’ Amen." (Pope Pius XII, The Raccolta, Benzinger Brothers, Boston, 1957, No. 626).

May 7, 1997 (David W. Cloud, Fundamental Baptist News Service, 1701 Harns Rd., Oak Harbor, WA 98277) - On May 7 Pope John Paul II dedicated his general audience to "the Virgin Mary" and urged all Christians to accept Mary as their mother. He noted the words spoken by Jesus on the cross to Mary and to John--"Woman, behold thy son!" and "Behold thy mother!" (John 19:26,27), and he claimed that in this statement "IT IS POSSIBLE TO UNDERSTAND THE AUTHENTIC MEANING OF MARIAN WORSHIP in the ecclesial community ... which furthermore is based on the will of Christ" (Vatican Information Service, May 7, 1997).

John Paul II underlined that "the history of Christian piety teaches that MARY IS THE PATH THAT LEADS TO CHRIST, and that filial devotion to her does not at all diminish intimacy with Jesus, but rather, it increases it and leads it to very high levels of perfection." He concluded by asking all Christians "to make room (for Mary) in their daily lives, ACKNOWLEDGING HER PROVIDENTIAL ROLE IN THE PATH OF SALVATION" (Ibid.).

Popes declaring Mary co-redeemer / co-redemptrix / co-savior

"Who can worthily thank thee and adequately praise thee, oh Blessed Virgin, who by thy fiat has saved a lost world." St. Augustine

"The foundation of all our confidence is found in the Blessed Virgin Mary. God has committed to her the treasury of all good things, in order that everyone may know that through her are obtained every hope, every grace, and all salvation. For this is His will: That we obtain everything through Mary." Pope Pius IX

"Sinners receive pardon by the intercession of Mary alone." St. John Chrysostom

"All those who seek Mary’s protection will be saved for all eternity." Pope Benedict XV

Leo XIII, Jucunda Semper, 1894: "When Mary offered herself completely to God together with her Son in the temple, she was already sharing with him the painful atonement on behalf of the human race ... (at the foot of cross) she willingly offered him up to the divine justice, dying with him in her heart, pierced by the sword of sorrow."

Pius X, Ad Diem Illum, 1904: "Owing to the union of suffering and purpose existing between Christ and Mary, she merited to become most worthily the reparatrix of the lost world, and for this reason, the dispenser of ALL favors which Jesus acquired for us by his death . . .

Benedict XV, Inter Sodalicia, 1918: "To such extent did Mary suffer and almost die with her suffering and dying Son; to such extent did she surrender her maternal rights over her Son for : man's salvation . . that we may rightly say she redeemed the human race together with Christ."

Plus XI, 1935, in a prayer to close a jubilee, we find the first use of the word Coredemptrix by a pope: "O Mother of love and mercy who, when thy sweetest Son was consummating the Redemption of the human race on in the altar of the cross, didst stand next to him suffering with him as a Coredemptrix."

Plus XII, in a radio broadcast in 1946: "Mary, for having been associated with the King of Martyrs in the ineffable work of human Redemption as Mother and cooperatrix, she remains forever associated with him, with an almost unlimited power, in the distribution of graces which flow from the Redemption."

John XXIII, Vatican II's Lumen Gentium, 1965.

Paul VI, Christi Matri. "The Church ... been accustomed to have recourse to that most ready intercessor, her Mother Mary ... For as St. Irenaeus says, she 'has become the cause of salvation for the whole human race"

John Paul II, Mother of the Redeemer, 1987.

Pius IX, Ubi Primum, 1849: "For God has committed to Mary the treasury of all good things, in order that everyone may know that THROUGH HER are obtained every hope, every grace, and ALL SALVATION. For this is his will, that we obtain everything through Mary."

Leo XIII, Supremi Apostolatus, 1883: "O Mary, the guardian of our peace and the dispensatrix of heavenly graces."

Plus X, Ad Diem Illum, 1904: "It was granted to the august Virgin to be together with her Only-begotten Son the most powerful Mediatrix and Conciliatrix of the whole world. So Christ is the source . . . Mary, however, as St. Bernard justly remarks, is the channel, or she is the neck by which the Body is united to the Head... through which ALL spiritual gifts are communicated to his Body."

Benedict XV, In a decree on Joan of Are: "In every miracle we must recognize the mediation of Mary, through whom, according to God's will, every grace and blessing comes to us."

Plus XI, Miserentissimus Redemptor, 1928: "Confiding in her intercession with Jesus, "the one Mediator of God and man, who wished to associate his own Mother with himself as the advocate of sinners, as the dispenser and mediatrix of grace."

Plus XII, Superiore Anno, 1940: "As St. Bernard declares, 'it is the will of God that we obtain favors through Mary, let everyone hasten to have recourse to Mary."

John XXIII, see Vatican II, Lumen Gentium.

Paul VI, see Lumen Gentium.

John Paul II, Dives in Misericordia, 1980, quoting Lumen Gentium, "In fact, by being assumed into heaven she has not laid aside the office of salvation but by the manifold intercession she continues to obtain for us the grace of eternal salvation."

The Pagan Origin of Christmas

Did you know that Jesus himself and the apostles did not celebrate his birthday? It was never even mentioned in the Bible.

1)December 25

Was Jesus Christ born on December 25? Or was it another one? The Bible has not mentioned the precise date of the birth of Christ.

The Christmas started in about 3rd A.D. and became more popular to its succeeding centuries. The celebration was created by the Catholic Church to entice pagan Romans to convert to Christianity without losing their traditional winter solstice celebrations. But long before this centuries and even before the birth of Christ, December 25 has been the date of the birth of famous heathen gods. Here are some of these pagan gods:

a) Mithra - Persian god known as the 'god of unconquerable son'.
b) Horus -
c) Tammuz -
d) Dionysus -
e) Attis -
f) Sol Invictus -
g) Ishtar -

(Don't be deceive. Read the Bible)

2) Christmas Tree

Back in the Pagan Rome, people celebrate the Feast of Saturnalia with their houses decorated with clippings of evergreen shrubs. They also decorated living trees with fragments of metal and images of the Roman god of wine and feast, Bacchus.

What did the Bible said:
"Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not."
-Jeremiah 10:2-4

(Don't be deceive. Read the Bible)

3) Santa Claus

He was one the most beloved characters in Christendom but who really is Santa Claus?
He was known as Saint Nicholas.... continue this part...

The belief that enters the house through the chimney developed from an old Norse legend... The Norse believed that the goddess Hertha appeared in the fireplace and brought good luck to the home.
-World Book Encyclopedia

Druid homeowners would leave a treat consisting of milk and pastries to appease this god who came down the chimney into their fireplace.

False Teaching About Mary

Mary was mentioned 19 times in the Bible.

1) Jesus taught us whom to pray. Not to Mary but to the Father.

Matthew 6:9-13, Luke 11:2-4

2) Mary's command found in the Bible is to follow Jesus.

Whatsoever he(Jesus) unto you, do it.
John 2:5

3) Jesus only called Mary as 'woman' instead of mother. No special respect mentioned like my blessed mother or anything.

John 2:3

4) When Mary and Joseph look for Jesus, they look for him for 3 days. If she has power and divine connection with God then she had already predicted that Jesus was in the temple.

Luke 2:24

5) Jesus told her that he was on his father business. If she knows the role of Jesus as Messiah she should not interfere and worry so much about Him in the temple.

Luke 2:24

6) Jesus has brothers and sisters. Mary is not an ever-virgin as the Roman Catholic preached.

Luke 8:19-21

7) Jesus told that His brothers, sisters and mothers are those who do the will of God.

Luke 8:19-21

8) Jesus told a woman that those who hears and kept the Word of God is more blessed than the womb who(Mary) bore Him and whose pap He sacked.

Luke 11:27-28

9) Jesus simply asked John to take care of His mother. It means she needs to be taken care of because she is still a human who was pained to see one of her son crucified and suffered.

John 19:26-27

10) Mary and Jesus' brothers prayed with one accord together with other women. Mary is praying to God and the women are not praying to Mary nor her sons. It simply means that Mary is also a believer of his son Jesus Christ. This is the first verse that mentions Mary as a believer.

Acts 1:14

11) Acts 1:14 Mentions Mary as a believer and never been mentioned again to the preceeding books of the Bible.

12) Mary was blessed among women and not above it. Deborah was blessed above women.

Judges 5:24

Not one mention that Mary as a co-redemtrix or co-mediatrix.

Not one mentioned that Mary performed miracles.

Not one mentioned that the apostles or the disciples worship her.

Not one mentioned that the apostles teach about Mary as a divine.

Not one mentioned that Mary do the ministry.

Not one mentioned in the Bible that Mary is someone more than Jesus earthly mother.

Remember what Mary's first and only command in the Bible: "Whatever He(Jesus) says just do it."

Don't be deceived. Search the Scriptures. Read the Bible.

^^The Whore of Babylon Unveiled

Throughout history many people have predicted the mystery of the infamous 'Whore of Babylon'. Countless predictions and comments has been made from the early days of Christianity until this time. Some of these predictions were far-fetched, while some has only traced the history of Babylon without getting to a subjective conclusion.
So who or what exactly the Whore of Babylon is?

And on her forehead a name written:
MYSTERY,
BABYLON THE GREAT,
THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND
OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
-Revelation 7:5

To answer this we need to interpret every word on Revelation 7:5 and try to gather all symbolism they represents. Let me just remind you that the Book of Revelation or Apocalypse uses symbols that hide the exact identity of a certain subject or event. The author, John the Beloved, one of the Twelve Apostles, wrote this book based on what he saw in a vision in the Island of Patmos.

MYSTERY - it is a mystery since multitude of people doesn't know the personification of the Whore of Babylon.

BABYLON - means a pagan nation. Babylon has been considered as one of the cradle of paganism.

THE GREAT - has power and authority over others.

THE MOTHER OF ALL - its the source or the origin. Simply indicating parenthood and symbolizes a nation or church.

HARLOTS - having multiple relationship or partners.

AND OF ABOMINATIONS - all other sins (idolatry, murder, fornication, etc.)

OF THE EARTH - bound on earth.

Aside from this verse, we can also find more sources from the whole chapter 17 of Revelation.

Here are the corresponding verses:

So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
-Revelation 17:3

  • Scarlet Beast - the one pulling the strings behind the woman's activities.

The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.

-Revelation 17:4

  • Purple and Scarlet - both colors signify royalty, power and dominion. During Roman rule they were the color of dresses worn by caesars and high emperial officials.
  • Gold and Precious Stones - symbolizes the wealth of the woman.

I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the
saints
and with the blood of the martyrs of
Jesus
. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.

-Revelation 17:6

  • Drunk with the Blood - killing and torturing those who don't follow the teachings, laws and will of the woman. During the Dark Ages many Christians were sent to Roman Coliseum to die in the hands of wild beasts and gladiators. Killings and mass murder followed during the Age of Reformation, when Protestants tried to get out from Catholicism. They were branded as heretics, witches, conspirators and died from public executions and inquisitions.

The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

-Revelation 17:8

  • The Beast - obviously it refers to Satan.
  • Was - means he was already from before.
  • Is Not - gone or concealed himself.
  • Will Ascend from the Bottomless Pit - Satan will be released and ascend to earth.

"Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits."

  • Seven Mountains - Rome was called in history as the 'City of the 7 Hills'.

It is situated on the Tiber River in the central part of the country. The historical site of Rome on its seven hills was occupied as early as the Bronze Age (c. 1500 bc), and the city was politically unified by the early 6th century bc. It became the capital of the Roman Empire. (Source: Britannica Encyclopedia)

  • Which the Woman sits - the location or the place where it stands.

The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as
yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast.

-Revelation 17:12

  • Ten Horns - on this verse, it was revealed by the angel as the ten kings who are under the beast(Satan).
  • One Hour - means for a short time only. In the Bible the day of the LORD means a year. So an hour may only take a month.

Then he said to me, "The waters which you saw,
where the harlot sits, are
peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues."

-Revelation 17:15

  • The Waters - in verse 1 means the peoples, multitudes, nations and languages.

Combining all the symbols we can arrive on the following conclusion:

1) The Beast is no doubt Satan the father of lies and abominations.
(Revelation 17: 8, 12, 16)

2) The Woman /Harlot is a nation or church located at Rome (the City of Seven Hills).
(Revelation 17:9)

3) The Woman/Harlot has authority, power, wealth and revered by people and nations.
(Revelation 17:3, 5, 15)

4) Killed the saints and martyrs. We know that during Dark Ages and Age of Reformation many Christians were killed because they stand firm on their faith. They were accused as heretics, witches, creating conspiracy against the Church where they came out. Most of these people were burned to death, hanged, beheaded and were subject to torture and inquisition.
(Revelation 17:6)

5) She was called the 'Whore' because she had mingled with other religion, occult and pagan practices. Here are some of its pagan practices:
  • Idolatry - images, paintings, sculptures of saints and other celestial beings.
  • Inquisition - torture and killing of accused heretics like Protestants, Tydale and Joan of Arc.
  • Use of pagan symbols - like crucifix and prayer beads.

(Revelation 17:2, 5)

With all these undeniable facts you may starting to get the bigger picture of the Whore of Babylon.

Quotes and Blasphemies of Popes and Priests

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that isworshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God."

-Fr. Michael Manning, December 1, 2001.

It's the Catholic belief that Jesus is the source of salvation, Jesus is God; we believe that. But what [do] we say to the millions and billions of people who don't even know about Jesus, are they just thrown into hell? Or what about a Rabbi who really follows the Lord as best he can? As a Catholic, I'm very comfortable that he attains salvation by doing this.
-
Fr. Michael Manning, December 1, 2001

We are in agreement that a Jew, and this is true for believers of other religions, does not need to know or acknowledge Christ as the Son of God in order to be saved, if there are insurmountable impediments, of which he is not blameworthy, to preclude it. However, the fact that the Son of God entered history, made himself part of history, and is present as a reality in history, affects everyone.

Pope Pius XII, Orientalis Ecclesiae, quoted in "Acta Apostolicae Sedis", 36:129, Rome: Vatican Press, (quoted in Apostolic Digest, by Michael Malone, Book 4).

You above all, venerable brothers, have known how this dogma of our religion has been unanimously and unceasingly declared, defended and insisted upon in synods by the Fathers of the Church. Indeed, they have never stopped teaching that 'God is one, Christ is one, the Church established upon Peter by the voice of the Lord is one;' 'the massive foundation of the great Christian state has been divinely built upon, as it were, this rock, this very firm stone;' 'this Chair, which is unique and the first of gifts, has always been designated and considered as the Chair of Peter;' 'shining forth throughout the world it maintains its primacy;' 'it is also the root and matrix whence sacerdotal unity has sprung;' it is not only the head but also the mother and teacher of all the Churches...'the Roman Pontiff, who holds Primacy in the entire world, is the Successor of Blessed Peter the Prince of the Apostles and the true Vicar of Christ, the head of the whole Church, and is the visible Father and Teacher of all Christians.' There are other, almost countless, proofs drawn from the most trustworthy witnesses which clearly and openly testify with great faith, exactitude, respect and obedience that all who want to belong to the true and only Church of Christ must honor and obey this Apostolic See and Roman Pontiff.
-
Pope Pius IX, Amantissimus (On The Care Of The Churches), Encyclical promulgated on April 8, 1862.

No one is found in the one Church of Christ, and no one perseveres in it, unless he acknowledges and accepts obediently the supreme authority of St. Peter and his legitimate successors.
-
Pope Pius XI, Mortalium Animos, PTC:873, (quoted in Apostolic Digest, by Michael Malone, Book 4: "The Book of Christians", Chapter 4: "There is No Allegiance to Christ Without Submission to the Pope").

If, therefore, the Greeks or others say that they are not committed to Peter and to his successors, they necessarily say that they are not of the sheep of Christ, since the Lord says that there is only one fold and one shepherd (Jn.10:16). Whoever, therefore, resists this authority, resists the command of God Himself.
-
Pope Boniface VIII, Unam Sanctam, DNZ:468, (quoted in Apostolic Digest, by Michael Malone, Book 4: "The Book of Christians", Chapter 4: "There is No Allegiance to Christ Without Submission to the Pope").

Remember and understand well that where Peter is, there is the Church; that those who refuse to associate in communion with the Chair of Peter belong to Antichrist, not to Christ. He who would separate himself from the Roman Pontiff has no further bond with Christ.
-
Pope Leo XIII, Satis Cognitum, quoted in "Acts of Leo XIII: Supreme Pontiff", Rome: Vatican Press, 1896, (quoted in Apostolic Digest, by Michael Malone, Book 4: "The Book of Christians", Chapter 4: "There is No Allegiance to Christ Without Submission to the Pope").

Although the devil desired to sift all the disciples, the Lord testifies that He Himself asked for Peter alone, and wished that the others be confirmed by him (Lk. 22:32); and to Peter as well was committed the care of "feeding the sheep" (Jn. 21:15); and also to him did the Lord hand over the "keys to the kingdom of Heaven" (Mt. 16:19). If, however, anyone believes contrary to this, let him know he is condemned and anathematized. Consider, therefore, that whoever has not been in the peace and unity of the Church cannot have the Lord. Those not willing to be at agreement in the Church of God cannot abide with God. For the Church of God is established among those known to preside over the Apostolic Sees, and whoever separates himself from these Sees is manifestly in schism.

Pope Pelagius II, Quod Ad Dilectionem," DNZ:246; "Dilectionis Vestrae," DNZ:247, (quoted in Apostolic Digest, by Michael Malone, Book 4: "The Book of Christians", Chapter 4: "There is No Allegiance to Christ Without Submission to the Pope").

...our Divine Redeemer also governs His Mystical Body in a visible and normal way through His Vicar on earth....After His glorious Ascension into heaven this Church rested not on Him alone, but on Peter too, its visible foundation stone. That Christ and His Vicar constitute one only Head is the solemn teaching of Our predecessor of immortal memory Boniface VIII in the Apostolic Letter Unam Sanctam; and his successors have never ceased to repeat the same.
They, therefore, walk in the path of dangerous error who believe that they can accept Christ as the Head of the Church, while not adhering loyally to His Vicar on earth. They have taken away the visible head, broken the visible bonds of unity and left the Mystical Body of the Redeemer so obscured and so maimed, that those who are seeking the haven of eternal salvation can neither see it nor find it....
As the Divine Redeemer sent the Paraclete, the Spirit of Truth, who in His name should govern the Church in an invisible way, so, in the same manner, He commissioned Peter and his successors to be His personal representatives on earth and to assume the visible government of the Christian community.
-Pope Pius XII, Mystici Corporis Christi (On the Mystical Body of Christ), Encyclical promulgated on June 29, 1943, #41-42, 69.

Those who are obstinate toward the authority of the Roman Pontiff cannot obtain eternal salvation. -Pope Pius IX, Quanto Conficiamur Moerore, DNZ:1677, (quoted in Apostolic Digest, by Michael Malone, Book 5: "The Book of Obedience", Chapter 1: "There is No Salvation Without Personal Submission to the Pope").

We teach,...We declare that the Roman Church by the Providence of God holds the primacy of ordinary power over all others, and that this power of jurisdiction of the Roman Pontiff, which is truly episcopal, is immediate. Toward it, the pastors and the faithful of whatever rite and dignity, both individually and collectively, are bound by the duty of hierarchical subordination and true obedience, not only in matters which pertain to faith and morals, but also in those which concern the discipline and government of the Church spread throughout the whole world, in such a way that once the unity of communion and the profession of the same Faith has been preserved with the Roman Pontiff, there is one flock of the Church of Christ under one supreme shepherd. This is the teaching of the Catholic truth from which no one can depart without loss of faith and salvation. -Pope Pius XII, Ad Apostolorum Principis (On Communism And The Church In China), Encyclical Promulgated on June 29, 1958, #46.

Urged by faith, we are obliged to believe and to maintain that the Church is one, holy, catholic, and also apostolic. We believe in her firmly and we confess with simplicity that outside of her there is neither salvation nor the remission of sins...There had been at the time of the deluge only one ark of Noah, prefiguring the one Church, which ark, having been finished to a single cubit, had only one pilot and guide, i.e., Noah, and we read that, outside of this ark, all that subsisted on the earth was destroyed....Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff.
-Pope Boniface VIII, Unam Sanctam, Bull promulgated on November 18, 1302.

The Saviour Himself is the door of the sheepfold: 'I am the door of the sheep.' Into this fold of Jesus Christ, no man may enter unless he be led by the Sovereign Pontiff; and only if they be united to him can men be saved, for the Roman Pontiff is the Vicar of Christ and His personal representative on earth.
-Pope John XXIII, in To the Bishops and Faithful Assisting at His Coronation, Homily given on November 4, 1958.

O glorious St. Peter, obtain for us a sincere loyalty to our Holy Mother the Church; grant that we may ever remain most closely and sincerely united to the Roman Pontiff who is the heir of thy faith and authority: the one, true, visible head of the Catholic Church, that mystical Ark outside which there is no salvation.
-Pope Benedict XV, RAC:484, (quoted in Apostolic Digest, by Michael Malone, Book 2: "The Book of Salvation", Chapter 1: "There is No Salvation Outside the One True Church").

But the supreme teacher in the Church is the Roman Pontiff. Union of minds, therefore, requires, together with a perfect accord in the one faith, complete submission and obedience of will to the Church and to the Roman Pontiff, as to God Himself. This obedience should, however, be perfect...(and) must consequently be accepted without wavering....
Wherefore it belongs to the Pope to judge authoritatively what things the sacred oracles contain, as well as what doctrines are in harmony, and what in disagreement, with them; and also, for the same reason, to show forth what things are to be accepted as right, and what to be rejected as worthless; what it is necessary to do and what to avoid doing, in order to attain eternal salvation.
-Pope Leo XIII, in Sapientiae Christianae (On Christians As Citizens), Encyclical promulgated on January 10, 1890, #22-24.

This is our last lesson to you: receive it, engrave it in your minds, all of you: by God's commandment salvation is to be found nowhere but in the Church; the strong and effective instrument of salvation is none other than the Roman Pontificate.
-Pope Leo XIII, in Allocution for the 25th Anniversary of His Election, given on February 20, 1903 (quoted in "Papal Teachings: The Church", by the Benedictine Monks of Solesmes, St. Paul Editions, Boston, 1962, par. 653).

No man...outside the faith of the Church and obedience to the Roman Pontiff can finally be saved. -Pope Clement VI, Epistle of September 29, 1351, (quoted in article "Is There Salvation Outside the Church?")

It is error to believe that, if the Pope were wicked and reprobate, then he is of the devil and is not head of the Church Militant...
-Pope Martin V, Inter Cunctas et in Eminentis, DNZ:646, (quoted in Apostolic Digest, by Michael Malone, Book 5: "The Book of Obedience", Chapter 1: "There is No Salvation Without Personal Submission to the Pope").

We the Archbishops and Bishops of Ireland, prostrate at the feet of your Holiness, humbly offer you our warmest congratulations on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of your ordination to the priesthood...our thoughts go back to that great event fifty years ago by which your Holiness was taken from amongst men and appointed for men in the things that pertain to God, was made a minister of Christ and a dispenser of His mysteries, received power over the real and mystical body of our Saviour and became a mediator between God and man - another Christ.
-Address of Irish Archbishops and Bishops to Pope Pius Xll, in 1949.

Receive the tiara adorned with three crowns and know that thou art Father of princes and kings, Ruler of the world, Vicar of our Savior Jesus Christ.
-Papal Coronation Ceremony.

...the appellation of God had been confirmed by Constantine on the Pope, who being God, cannot be judged by man."
-Pope Nicholas I, quoted in History of the Councils, vol. IX, Dist.: 96, Can 7, "Satis Evidentur Decret Gratian Primer Para", by Labbe and Cossart.
