The Pagan Origin of Christmas

Did you know that Jesus himself and the apostles did not celebrate his birthday? It was never even mentioned in the Bible.

1)December 25

Was Jesus Christ born on December 25? Or was it another one? The Bible has not mentioned the precise date of the birth of Christ.

The Christmas started in about 3rd A.D. and became more popular to its succeeding centuries. The celebration was created by the Catholic Church to entice pagan Romans to convert to Christianity without losing their traditional winter solstice celebrations. But long before this centuries and even before the birth of Christ, December 25 has been the date of the birth of famous heathen gods. Here are some of these pagan gods:

a) Mithra - Persian god known as the 'god of unconquerable son'.
b) Horus -
c) Tammuz -
d) Dionysus -
e) Attis -
f) Sol Invictus -
g) Ishtar -

2) Christmas Tree

Back in the Pagan Rome, people celebrate the Feast of Saturnalia with their houses decorated with clippings of evergreen shrubs. They also decorated living trees with fragments of metal and images of the Roman god of wine and feast, Bacchus.

What did the Bible said:
"Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not."
-Jeremiah 10:2-4

3) Santa Claus

He was one the most beloved characters in Christendom but who really is Santa Claus?
He was known as Saint Nicholas.... continue this part...

The belief that enters the house through the chimney developed from an old Norse legend... The Norse believed that the goddess Hertha appeared in the fireplace and brought good luck to the home.
-World Book Encyclopedia

Druid homeowners would leave a treat consisting of milk and pastries to appease this god who came down the chimney into their fireplace.
